hello, world.

some people wonder why every programmer’s journey starts with a simple hello, world! printed onto the console.

not me. no. i wondered why the comma was necessary, after all they’re only two words.

hello world! i’m sami, short for samuel. i am a dev exploring the digital world one byte at a time. so far, i built for the front and back ends of the web. i love competitive math, non-competitive math and all kinds of math, which i did a lot of before coming into coding. i am also an ardent lover of books and all things creative; music, art, movies, all types. i think this tells a lot about my ideologies: i like to philosophize, daydream, brainstorm a hurrricane of ideas, ground it in computable, provable theory, then make it work fast and usable.

though i had started my journey with the web, im currently exploring systems and data, smaller projects where precision and performance take the front stage. im also exploring game dev.

im writing these blogs to mostly document my thoughts so apologies in advance if you are looking for guides and manuals (those are here). i will write:

• build logs - what i made, what broke, what i’d do differently
• problem write-ups - a hard problem, worked slowly and the sami-way
• performance notes - something slow, made fast, with the hard numbers to show it
